Our Engagement as a PMU with State Governments

Currently, The Education Alliance supports Samagra Shiksha Tamil Nadu and Samagra Shiksha Tripura in the management of its NGO partnerships. As a Program management Unit (PMU) to support the State Governments in the management of NGO Partnerships TEA does the following:

  • Landscape study

of NGOs working in Government schools (as provided by SSTN). This will involve studying and reviewing MOUs signed between SSTN and NGOs to understand the roles and responsibilities and agreed key performance indicators (KPIs); Visiting interventions on ground and mapping NGO performance against agreed KPIs.

  • Streamline reporting

between NGOs and Samagra Shiksha Tamil Nadu through creation of templates, processes etc.

  • Facilitate setting up of a Steering Committee

within the Department to oversee and manage NGOs. The committee will meet every quarter to monitor progress of various NGO interventions and address any on-ground challenges faced by organizations.

  • Support partnership alignment,

facilitating conversations related to scale, sustainability, terminations etc. based on the review of NGO performance

  • On-board new NGOs

based on the needs of the State
