Mahendra Kumar Thakur | Academic Lead, Numeracy – Project Ankur, Madhya Pradesh
Mahendra is the Academic Lead – Numeracy for the FLN project in Madhya Pradesh. He has more than 5 years of experience in the education & development sector having worked with corporate, NGO & government institutions. Prior to joining The Education Alliance, he was associated with PSSCIVE, NCERT, Bhopal as a research project fellow. He has also worked as an Education Anchor with PARIVAAR EDUCATION, Sehore, Assistant Professor & NCC/NSS Programme officer with People’s University, Bhopal, and Lecturer with RGPV, Bhopal.
He pursued an M.A. in Development from Azim Premji University, Bangalore, where he founded the Care & Share Initiative. He has B.E. in EXE from Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal.
Mahendra has strong in-depth exposure to teacher training & capacity building, project coordination, field-based monitoring, community engagement, stakeholder management, and development campaigns. Trained in organic agriculture, groundwater management, rural development, and sustainable development. Along with his varied professional experiences, he also engaged in material donation drives in association with GOONJ, Vatsalya Sewa trust & orphanage homes in Bangalore, and has voluntarily participated in rural development activities in education, health & livelihood operations.
