In 2014, The Education Alliance (TEA) proposed to the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) a quality-focused solution of government-private partnerships that combined several of the elements responsible for improved quality of education in government schools.
In a mission to transform underperforming government schools into centers of excellence, TEA introduced the Government-Partnership School Model (G-PS) that involved school management partnerships between mission-oriented non-profit educational organizations and the government, . TEA has been working closely with the SDMC to introduce the G-PS model to its primary school system wherein selected non-profits support government schools in a whole-school model through academic leadership, curriculum, and pedagogy.
TEA believes that in order to address the quality crisis, the foundational structure must be strengthened to be more accountable, equitable, and collaborative. We aim to build an ecosystem in which governments can strategically partner with mission-oriented non-profit educational organizations to catalyze the transformation of India’s education system.Over the years, TEA has evolved its engagement with the government to a 2-pronged approach towards education system transformation
