Rajat Sharma | Manager, SATH-E, Madhya Pradesh
Rajat Sharma started his TEA journey as a Manager: State Reform in supporting the Department of School Education in Madhya Pradesh as part of the NITI Aayog-funded SATH-E (Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital – Education) program, mandated to strengthen the public K-12 education ecosystem through a myriad of system reforms and interventions. More specifically, he is working in close quarters with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), driving school consolidation and mergers while managing program-wide implementation excellence with a keen focus on strengthening the school monitoring framework.
Rajat’s passion for education for low-income children led him to work at Pratham Education Foundation in the past where he worked closely with the leadership group, implementation teams, philanthropic organizations, and government stakeholders in designing program strategy, fleshing out implementation plans and overseeing operations in four states which helped cultivate a bird’s-eye view on India’s education landscape. Previously, he has been a Management Consultant with Deloitte Consulting and KPMG, and has interned at PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) among other organizations such as NTPC, NDTV, and Deloitte. While finishing college, his love for entrepreneurship prompted him to conceptualize two start-ups – Seherr, a non-profit and St. Stephen’s Weekly, first ever e-zine of the college. He has also been a professional Squash player having represented the country in multiple championships, and has completed his undergraduate degree in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
He now treads back to working within the public education system to return to the light in his heart, lit by nothing but his passion to explore ideas and ways to ensure quality learning at scale in India.
